Opening Up Armor Panels

I first saw pictures of how this was done in a Japanese blog and thought I'd do a quick tutorial myself to share with the community. This is probably common knowledge by now, but for what it's worth, here you go...

  • Step 1. Check where you want to open up the armor. Make sure to check for any obstructions on the inside of the part that you don't want to deal with or destroy.

  • Step 2. Drill holes inside the perimeter of the intended cut.

  • Step 3. Use a design knife to cut away the middle part left over by the drilling.

  • Step 4. Clean the edges with the knife and smooth them out with a file or small strips of sandpaper.

...and you're done! Now you're ready to show off some internal components or mechanical detail!

Stay tuned for more plamo tips!
